DV Cortez

DV is a New York-based composer and actor from Quezon City, Philippines. He graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2022. The only musician in his family, DV fell in love with storytelling through music at an early age. Musicals and musical movies, especially Disney movies, inspired him to start writing. In April 2018, he co-composed and directed his original show, Still, I Am. He has experience both on and off stage, recently appearing in the Streaming Concert Premiere of the new musical Sticks and Stones (Book and Lyrics by Scott Logsdon, Music by John McDaniel) in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and Born This Way Foundation. DV is currently writing the book and music for an original musical based on Philippine mythology and folklore, Aya.
